Celebrity cookbook launch on HCC stand at Royal Welsh Show

Some of Wales’ most famous names will exclusively reveal their favourite recipe in a cookbook produced by the agricultural charity, R.A.B.I (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution).

Celebrity Cookbook has been produced by the Ceredigion R.A.B.I county committee and will be launched on Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) – Meat Promotion Wales’ stand during the Royal Welsh Show.

Well-known figures such as First Minister Carwyn Jones, Welsh chef Dudley Newbery and TV and radio presenter Eleri Sion have contributed a recipe for the booklet to promote the work of the R.A.B.I in Wales.

As part of the launch, HCC’s Consumer Executive Elwen Roberts will be demonstrating how to cook some of the dishes followed by a taste test for everyone at the event. These will include television presenter Mari Grug’s ‘Pan Roasted Welsh Lamb Rump’ and S4C weather presenter, Yvonne Evans’ bangers and mash.

Samples of HCC Chief Executive, Gwyn Howells’ favourite – Spring Minted Leg of Welsh Lamb - will also be available for all to enjoy.

Mr Howells said: “We are pleased to be involved in the launch of the celebrity cookbook which is an excellent way of increasing awareness of the work undertaken by the R.A.B.I in rural communities.

“A variety of recipes are contained between the covers, and we look forward to tasting some of the dishes which include Welsh Lamb and pork from Wales during the event.”

The bilingual book will be launched at 1pm on Wednesday 22 July.

R.A.B.I is a welfare charity which helps farmers and farmworkers of all ages, giving out grants of around £2 million each year.
